There's no placement fee and no per-hire commission. One subscription covers the whole period, whether you hire on the second day or the fortieth. We're based in Aluva, Ernakulam, and the profiles cover all 14 Kerala districts.
What a house maid actually does
Most Kerala households want the same core set of work, though the mix shifts from home to home. Some families need cooking above everything else. Others need the house kept clean while both parents are at the office. Ask any maid what her previous employers wanted and you'll hear a version of this list.
Typical work covered by a house maid:
- Sweeping, mopping and general house cleaning
- Washing clothes, drying, folding and ironing
- Washing vessels and keeping the kitchen clean
- Cooking daily meals, including Kerala-style cooking where she's trained for it
- Grocery shopping and small errands
- Basic help with children or elderly family members at home
- Keeping the bathroom and outdoor areas clean
Work that falls outside this: nursing care, giving medication, managing a bedridden patient, or staying at a hospital. Those need trained staff. If that's what your family needs, look at home nursing, bedridden patient care or a hospital bystander instead.
Full-time, live-in or part-time
The three arrangements suit different homes, and getting this wrong is the usual reason a placement fails inside a month.
A full-time maid comes in the morning, works through the day, and goes home at night. This suits families in Kochi, Trivandrum and Calicut where the maid lives nearby and has her own family to return to.
A live-in maid stays at your house. She needs a room and her food, and in exchange you have help available at any hour. Families with elderly parents at home, or with both parents travelling for work, usually need this. Read more about live-in maids.
A part-time maid comes for a fixed few hours, often just morning cleaning and cooking. It's the cheapest arrangement and it's enough for a small flat or a working couple. Read more about part-time maids.
If cooking is the main requirement and the cleaning is secondary, you may want a cook rather than a maid. The pay is different and so is the skill.

The whole process sits in your hands rather than ours.
- Take a subscription. Pick the plan that matches how long you want access. Payment is online.
- Search the profiles. Filter by district, by expertise, by language, and by whether she's available full-time, live-in or part-time.
- Read her profile properly. Years of experience, the work she's done before, the languages she speaks, her availability.
- Call the workers directly in the presence of our executive, for the workers' safety. You can talk to the workers directly and fix the terms of employment.
- Agree the salary directly. We don't set it and we don't take any part of it.
- If it doesn't work out, go back and pick again. Your subscription is still running.

The salary is what you pay the maid, every month, directly to her. We take nothing from it. In Kerala it currently runs roughly ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 a month for a full-time maid, higher for a live-in maid where you're also providing room and food, and lower for part-time work charged by the hour. The exact figure depends on the district, the hours and what she's expected to cook. Kochi and Trivandrum pay more than Wayanad or Kasaragod.
A commission agency will usually charge you one month's salary as a placement fee, then charge it again for a replacement. Over a year with two changes of maid, that's ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 in fees on top of the salary. That's the difference the subscription removes.

Why families pick this over an agency
The honest answer is control. With an agency you describe what you want to a person on a phone and hope the match is right. Here you're reading the actual profiles and making the call yourself, which means the judgment about whether someone fits your house stays with the person who knows your house.
The second reason is cost over time. Domestic help turns over. Maids leave for family reasons, they move district, the arrangement stops suiting one side. With commission hiring, every one of those changes costs you again. With a running subscription it doesn't.

Can I get a maid who also cooks?
Yes. Cooking is one of the filters on the search, and many profiles list the style of cooking she's used to. If cooking is the main need rather than an extra, look at the cook profiles instead.
